Over 180 Hong Kong students honoured at HSBC Scholars Day 2026
Over 180 students from Hong Kong were recognised at HSBC Scholars Day 2026 yesterday.
Since 1965, HSBC has supported over 7,500 students to pursue their ambitions across disciplines — from gaining international exposure to building careers in innovation and technology, while giving back to the community.
The event was officiated by Dr Peter Wong, Chairman, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited and The Hongkong Bank Foundation, and Maggie Ng, Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, HSBC.
Dr Wong said: “Hong Kong has long been a highly connected city, shaped by generations who have worked hard, adapted quickly, and continued to progress. For HSBC, investing in talent is a practical way to give back to a community we’ve called home for more than 160 years. We encourage our Scholars to stay curious and develop a global perspective. We look forward to seeing them contribute to the future development of this leading international financial centre.”
A distinctive feature of the HSBC Scholarship is its community service requirement. To date, HSBC Scholars have contributed over 1,440 hours supporting underprivileged communities across Hong Kong.
HSBC’s scholarship offering in Hong Kong now comprises five programmes: HSBC Hong Kong Scholarship, Innovation and Technology Scholarship, Social Work Scholarship, Vocational Education Scholarship, and HSBC Global Scholarship.
